OLOGIES

Words and music, Roger Coghill

My grandpa had a pleasant life

Peaceful and serene.

No motorcars

No radio

No telephone

No screen.

Then Ologies arrived around the world

And humble pleasures died.

The brickee, postman,

Carpenter

Forgotten,

Cast aside.

In offices and factories

The tribe of Ologies

Throughout the lands

Replaced the hands

With electricity.

So nowadays to get a job

You need an Ology:

With might and main

You’re near insane

Getting that

Degree.

Some Ologies are not much use,

Phrenology for sure

Astrology

Kidology

Apology

And more.

So get an Ology my son,

The pathway to success

Though late

Your fate’s

In better state.

But your brain

Will be a mess.
